Idle-Stop System (Select Vehicles)

What’s the Benefit?

This system is designed to help enhance efficient operation and save fuel.

The Feature:

  • To further enhance fuel efficiency, select vehicles feature an idle-stop system.
  • When the vehicle brakes to a stop for at least two seconds—such as at a traffic light—the engine automatically shuts off to save fuel.
  • When the driver releases the brake pedal, the engine starts back up by itself.

Note: In certain traffic conditions, the idle-stop function may not be desirable. So the driver has the opportunity to easily switch off the system with a button located near the shifter.
