Battery Preconditioning (Battery Electric Vehicles)

Definition

When the battery supplying power to an electric vehicle is too cold or too hot due to ambient conditions, current flows more slowly. This affects the rate at which the battery can be recharged as well as the level of performance provided for acceleration. So when vehicles like the Honda Prologue are plugged into a compatible charger, they will automatically raise or lower the battery’s temperature for quicker charging and optimal performance.
