Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) (Honda Sensing® feature)

The Feature:
The Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)⁴ employs the windshield-mounted camera also used by LDW to identify the side of the road, including white or yellow painted lane lines, or the outer edge of the pavement bordered by grass or gravel.

• When the system detects that the vehicle is about to leave the road with no turn signal activated, it alerts the driver with a warning message and rapid steering-wheel vibrations.
• The system is designed to then use the electric power steering system (EPS) to guide the vehicle back into its detected lane or to keep the Pilot from leaving the roadway altogether.
