What’s the Benefit?

The Honda LogR^® app is designed to help Civic Type R drivers achieve significant improvements in lap times in a closed-course setting.

The Feature:

While all cars communicate with their driver to an extent, some are more fluent than others. Through its controls, the Civic Type R already speaks volumes. And with the Honda LogR app, the Civic Type R can convey vast amounts of highly detailed information to help drivers improve their techniques.

• Unlike other datalogging apps, Honda LogR is embedded in the vehicle and gains exclusive access to the onboard computer and sensors of the Civic Type R to monitor a variety of performance parameters.
• While on the track, LogR offers a performance monitor on the 9-inch color touch-screen that features a G-meter showing acceleration, braking and cornering G-forces; also shown are the status of oil and coolant temperatures, oil pressure and more.
• After a drive, a Data Log can be viewed that uses GPS to monitor and map the vehicle’s location and the car’s internal sensors to gather data on acceleration, braking, cornering Gs and other parameters; the app encourages smooth, controlled driving through the use of a color-coded trace of each lap, with green, yellow and red colors indicating progression.
• Also available is Auto Score, a function that monitors driver behavior over time and generates a score against a baseline established by professional drivers to encourage smooth use of controls and improve skills.
• Drivers can choose to download the Honda LogR 2.0 app to their paired smartphone, allowing them to share and compare their driving data and scores with other users.
