Blind Spot Information System (BSI)

What’s the Benefit?
BSI helps give the driver additional information about conditions on both sides of the vehicle to enhance driving confidence.

The Feature:
Odyssey make available an innovative and useful blind spot information system (BSI)14.

  • A pair of sensors, one on each rear corner of the Odyssey, can detect a vehicle that may be positioned in an adjacent lane.
  • An indicator located at the base of the A-pillars then alerts the driver.
  • If BSI detects an object in an adjacent lane when the turn signal is on in that direction, the indicator flashes and an alert sounds to catch the driver’s attention.
  • Engineered for relatively close range, the system covers an area on each side of the Odyssey from each front door handle extending to about 10 feet behind the vehicle and 12 feet out from the side of the vehicle.
  • To prevent false alarms while maneuvering at low speed, the system is disabled below approximately 20 mph.
