Three Power Modes (Sport Hybrid, Sport Touring Hybrid)

What’s the Benefit?

The CR-V hybrid powertrain uses three modes to enable the vehicle to operate in the most fuel-efficient mode for the conditions.

The Feature:

Three power modes allow the CR-V hybrid trims to operate with the utmost efficiency.

• Power-flow indicators in the Driver Information Interface (DII) keep the driver apprised of which mode is in use.
• In EV Drive, the vehicle is propelled solely by its electric motor and the lithium-ion battery pack.
• In Hybrid Drive, the engine powers the generator which in turn supplies the drive motor with electricity.
• In Engine Drive, one of two clutches can engage to mechanically link the engine to the front drive wheels and enhance both efficiency and performance:      
  • The low-speed clutch can engage Engine Drive and enable the vehicle to tow up to 1,000 lbs³⁷.
  • The high-speed clutch engages at highway speeds to provide greater efficiency.
