Engine/Chassis Features

Idle-Stop System

What’s the Benefit?

This system is designed to enhance efficient operation and save fuel.

The Feature:

To further enhance fuel efficiency, all CR-V trims feature an idle-stop system.

  • When the vehicle brakes to a stop for at least two seconds—such as at a traffic light—the engine automatically shuts off to save fuel.
  • When the driver releases the brake pedal, the engine starts back up by itself.
  • The idle-stop function may not be desirable in certain traffic conditions, so the driver has the opportunity to easily switch off the system with a button located near the shift lever, identified by the letter “A” surrounded by a circular arrow.
