This feature on Pilot Touring and above trims provides an unprecedented link between the vehicle and the owner’s smartphone, service providers and other sources—for enhanced confidence and convenience as well as expanded entertainment opportunities.
A built-in telematics unit allows the vehicle to communicate via cell signal with the owner’s smartphone, emergency services, streaming-entertainment providers and even a concierge service.
Convenience features available via the owner’s smartphone include:
Viewing the TPMS status and air pressure in each tire.
Checking whether the doors are locked.
A “Find My Car” feature that locates the vehicle with mapping software.
The ability to send address and point-of-interest data to the vehicle’s navigation system.
The fuel remaining and estimated range.
A concierge service can be contacted, allowing you to make restaurant and hotel reservations, buy tickets to events and much more.
Confidence-inspiring features include:
The ability to remotely lock and unlock the doors via smartphone.
Emergency services notification, either automatically following airbag deployment or by pushing an assist button in the overhead console.
A stolen-vehicle tracking feature to help authorities locate the Pilot.
A remote diagnostics feature that allows Honda to determine the cause of vehicle warnings or alerts.
For a broad range of streaming entertainment, the telematics system can transform the entire vehicle into a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The system is activated by downloading the HondaLink®22 app to the owner’s smartphone, scanning the vehicle’s VIN, pairing the phone to the Bluetooth®1 HandsFreeLink® system and completing the registration process.
