Odyssey Suspension and Steering

What’s the Benefit?

The Odyssey’s suspension and steering make for agile handling and a smooth, comfortable ride—even over rough roads.

The Feature:

The suspension system uses a combination of MacPherson front struts and a compact multi-link rear suspension with trailing arms.

  • Using struts in front makes more room available for crash reinforcement, and the multi-link rear suspension helps maximize third-row seating and cargo volume, while also providing outstanding ride quality.
  • To the previous generation’s front stabilizer bar, the 2018 Odyssey adds a rear stabilizer to enhance handling precision and reduce body roll.
  • Odyssey’s dual-pinion electric power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering (EPS) provides precise response to steering inputs, for great driver confidence on the road; plus, low-speed agility and minimal effort contribute to parking ease.
