Engine/Chassis Features

Idle-Stop System (Touring and Elite)

What’s the Benefit?

To further enhance fuel efficiency36, trims with the 10-speed automatic feature an idle-stop system.

The Feature:

  • When the vehicle brakes to a stop for at least two seconds—such as at a traffic light—the engine automatically shuts off to save fuel.
  • When the driver releases the brake pedal, the engine starts back up by itself.

Important Note: In certain traffic conditions, the idle-stop function may not be desirable. So the driver has the opportunity to easily switch off the system with a button located to the left of the transmission shift buttons. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the idle-stop system will turn back on.
