What’s the Benefit?

This vehicle’s transmission helps deliver smooth performance from a simple, dependable package.

The Feature:

The Clarity Fuel Cell uses a single-speed gearbox to transmit power to the front drive wheels.

• This is enabled by the electric drive motor’s ability to generate maximum torque from 0 to 3500 rpm—and its ability to rev much higher than a conventional engine.

• Important Note: When using a conveyor-type car wash, the transmission must be set to car-wash mode; here’s how it’s done:
• After coming to a complete stop and maintaining pressure on the brake pedal, press the transmission’s N button
• Within 6 seconds, press the N button again and hold it for at least 2 seconds
• You can now unbuckle your seat belt and exit the car while it remains in Neutral
• To cancel car-wash mode, select any gear position other than N
