Three Power Modes

What’s the Benefit?

The Accord Hybrid’s three modes enable the car to operate in the most fuel-efficient mode for the conditions.

The Feature:

Three power modes allow the Accord Hybrid to operate with the utmost efficiency.

• Power-flow indicators in the Driver Information Interface or, if equipped, the Display Audio keep the driver apprised of which mode is in use.
• In EV Drive, the Accord Hybrid is propelled solely by its electric motor and the lithium-ion battery pack.
  
  • This mode can be selected—and used for short distances—by pressing the EV button.
• When the battery runs low, the Accord Hybrid automatically switches to Hybrid Drive and the engine starts to power the generator, which in turn supplies the drive motor with electricity.
• In Engine Drive, a clutch engages to mechanically link the engine to the front drive wheels at highway speeds.
