Safety Features

Front Pedestrian Braking (Honda Sensing® feature)

What’s the Benefit?

This system is designed to assist drivers in avoiding a collision with pedestrians and bicyclists in front of the vehicle.

The Feature:

The front pedestrian braking system89 is standard on all Prologue trims.

  • The system works when the vehicle is traveling between 5 and 50 mph.
  • A windshield-mounted camera can detect pedestrians and bicyclists up to 130 ft ahead during daylight hours.
  • When a pedestrian or bicyclist is detected, the system issues eight high-pitched beeps to alert the driver to brake the vehicle.
  • It will automatically brake the vehicle to help avoid a possible collision.
  • The system can brake the vehicle to a complete stop if necessary and will then apply the electric parking brake; release the brake or press the accelerator to continue.
Important Note: The front pedestrian braking system on the Prologue may not be able to apply enough braking force to prevent all collisions. It also cannot detect all pedestrians or bicyclists ahead; the driver must intervene in certain situations, and must always be attentive when using the system.
