What’s the Benefit?

The hands-free access feature provides a high level of convenience when loading cargo²⁶.

The Feature:

Passport Black Edition features a hands-free access function for the power tailgate.

• Owners who want to open the tailgate while their hands are full don’t even have to press a button.
• They can simply raise and lower their foot beneath the rear bumper while the Smart Entry remote is with them.
• The tailgate will unlock and open automatically.
• The hands-free access sensor is positioned in the middle of the vehicle—although an accessory is available to move the sensor a few inches to the right if a trailer hitch is installed.

Important Note: The most effective foot motion is to kick directly up toward the sensor, and then back down again; a side-to-side waggle, for instance, might not be as successful.
