What’s the Benefit?

This system helps occupants remember to use their seat belts—which function as the primary protection feature.

The Feature:

To help increase seat-belt usage, a seat-belt reminder has been incorporated into the instrument cluster.

• After the vehicle is started, a weight sensor detects whether the front passenger seat is occupied.
• If the driver or front passenger has not already fastened their seat belt, an icon in the digital instrument cluster illuminates and a chime sounds as a reminder.
• The latching status of the rear seat belts is also displayed.
