Hands-Free Access Power Tailgate with Walk Away Close (Touring and Elite)

What’s the Benefit?
The hands-free access feature provides a high level of convenience when approaching the vehicle with your hands full. And the walk away close function extends the hands-free convenience to when you grab an armload of items from the cargo area and leave the vehicle. 

The Feature:
The hands-free access function lets you open and close the tailgate without reaching for the key fob.

• Owners who want to open the tailgate while their hands are full don’t even have to press a button.
• They can simply raise their foot beneath the rear bumper while the Smart Entry remote is with them.
• The tailgate will unlock and open automatically.
• The hands-free access sensor is positioned in the middle of the vehicle—although an accessory is available to move the sensor a few inches to the right if a trailer hitch is installed.
• To engage the walk away close feature while carrying the keyless remote, press the walk away close button on the driver’s side of the cargo area; then walk at least 3 feet away from the Pilot within 30 seconds—exterior lights will flash, a beeper will sound and the tailgate will power shut.
