What’s the Benefit?

RDM gives Odyssey occupants added peace of mind when out on the road.

The Feature:

The Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)⁴ employs the windshield-mounted camera also used by the Lane Departure Warning system to identify the side of the road, including painted lane lines, Botts’ Dots and cat’s-eye markers.

• When the system detects that the vehicle is about to leave the road, it alerts the driver with a Driver Information Interface warning message.
• The system is designed to then use the electric power steering system (EPS) to guide the vehicle back into its detected lane or to apply the brakes to keep the Odyssey from leaving the roadway altogether.
