Smart Entry and Push Button Start

What’s the Benefit?

Smart Entry and push button start make it exceptionally easy and convenient to unlock, drive and relock the Passport.

The Feature:

All trims feature the Smart Entry system with push button start as well as the Walk Away Auto Lock^® feature.

• The Smart Entry system allows the driver carrying the key fob in a pocket or purse to walk up to the vehicle, touch the door handle and open the door, start the engine and shut it off at the end of a trip, and then get out, shut the door and touch the lock button on the door handle—all without ever using the key.
• Drivers can skip touching the lock button if they've enabled Walk Away Auto Lock; the vehicle senses that the key fob has moved away after all doors have been shut and will lock automatically.
• Likewise, the driver can open the tailgate with just a touch of the release button located above the license plate—it only requires that the driver has the key fob within 32 inches of the vehicle.

The Walk Away Auto Lock feature is enabled via the Settings menu.

• From the Display Audio home screen, select Settings, Vehicle Settings, Keyless Access Setup, Walk Away Auto Lock and then Enable.
