Smart Entry and Push Button Start (select trims)

What’s the Benefit?

The Smart Entry system makes it exceptionally easy and convenient to unlock, drive and relock the Civic Hatchback.

The Feature:

Select Civic Hatchback models use a Smart Entry system with push button start.

• The Smart Entry system allows the driver to walk up to the vehicle, touch the door handle and open the door, start the engine and shut it off at the end of the trip, and then get out and touch the LOCK sensor on the door handle to secure the car—all without ever touching a key.
• And Civic Sport, EX-L and Sport Touring Hatchback drivers can even skip that last step by enabling the Walk Away Auto Lock^® feature via the customizable settings.
• Plus, the driver can open the hatch with just a touch of the release button located just above the license plate—it only requires that drivers have the key fob with them.

The Walk Away Auto Lock^® feature is enabled via the Settings menu.

• Sport and EX-L trims: Touch the HOME button on the left side of the steering wheel, rotate the selector wheel to Settings and press; the select Door Setup, Walk Away Auto Lock and then ON.
• Sport Touring trim: From the 9-inch color touch-screen home screen, select Settings, Vehicle Settings, Door/Window Setup, Walk Away Auto Lock and then ON.
