This system is designed to enhance efficient operation and save fuel.
To further enhance fuel efficiency, the higher Pilot trims feature an idle-stop system.
When the vehicle brakes to a stop for at least two seconds—such as at a traffic light—the engine automatically shuts off to save fuel.
When the driver releases the brake pedal, the engine starts back up by itself.
Important Note: In certain traffic conditions, the idle-stop function may not be desirable. So the driver has the opportunity to easily switch off the system with a button located at the rear of the transmission’s shift-by-wire control unit.
