What's New

While the Civic Si Sedan is largely a carryover—except that the high-performance tire version is no longer offered—the rest of the Civic Sedan lineup gets a substantial updating for the 2019 model year:

  • The Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assistive features is now standard on every Civic Sedan trim except Si
  • Auto high-beam headlights are an additional driver-assistive feature on every trim with Honda Sensing®
  • A new Sport trim enters the lineup above the LX
    • The Sport is powered by the 2.0-liter engine, and can be fitted with either a 6MT or CVT
    • In addition to the 18-inch wheels and tires from the Si—with unique paint accents on the wheels—the Sport trims offer super-sharp cornering, thanks to exclusive dampers, increased rigidity of rear-suspension components and a beefier front stabilizer bar
    • Other standout exterior features on the Sport include a very cool center outlet exhaust and a black deck-lid spoiler
    • Inside, the Sport offers unique combination upholstery on the seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, paddle shifters on CVT models, sport pedals, and red illumination in the instrument panel and DA
  • Last year’s EX trim that featured the 2.0-liter engine is no longer offered
  • What was called the Civic EX-T Sedan last year—powered by the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine—is now the 2019 Civic EX Sedan, available only with the smooth and efficient CVT
  • The Civic EX-L Sedan with Navigation is no longer available.
  • On all trims except Si, Civic’s widely praised exterior styling gets sharpened even further front and back, and all models get updated wheel treatments
  • From the inside, the 2019 Civic has received numerous updates to enhance style, comfort and user-friendliness:
    • Materials accenting the seats and other interior surfaces have been upgraded for a richer, sportier feel
    • The EX Sedan features an 8-way power driver’s seat
    • The excellent convenience of the HomeLink® remote system is now featured on the EX-L Sedan as well as the Touring trim
    • The Touring Sedan adds paddle shifters for greater engagement, along with the cool look of sport pedals
    • All trims now feature the Driver Information Interface to accommodate the across-the-line installation of Honda Sensing®
    • The steering wheel-mounted controls have been refined to make their use easier and more intuitive
    • The Display Audio now has an array of hard buttons and a power/volume knob along the left side to make operation quicker and more satisfying
    • The front beverage holders have been redesigned for easier use
    • The electric parking brake now features an indicator light on the switch to communicate its status more readily
    • Trims with Display Audio and dual-zone automatic climate control now have hard buttons to adjust the climate-control system’s fan speed
    • The smartphone-pairing process and prioritization settings for Bluetooth®1 HandsFreeLink® have been revised for enhanced ease of use
    • The Apple CarPlay™16 and Android Auto™17 integration has been refined to make use easier and more intuitive
    • An extension cable will be included to run from the lower-deck USB Smartphone/Audio Interface2 to the upper deck
    • The directional quality of the voice-recognition microphone has been extended to include the front passenger
    • Regardless of trim, the Civic interior is a quieter and more refined space for 2019 due to enhanced insulation and body-sealing against wind, road and engine noise
