RDM enhances the driver’s sense of security.

The Feature:

The Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)⁴ employs the windshield-mounted camera also used by the Lane Departure Warning System (LDW)¹⁰ to identify the side of the road, including painted lane lines, Botts’ Dots and cat’s-eye markers.

• When the system detects that the vehicle is about to leave the road, it alerts the driver with an warning message.
• The system is designed to then use the Electric Power Steering system (EPS) to guide the vehicle back into its detected lane or to apply the brakes to keep the Clarity Fuel Cell from leaving the roadway altogether.
